Memory Test

AO: Norseman

When: 2025-06-24

QIC: lumbergh

PAX (11): Callahan, Cam's, Fresh Prince, Ha-ha, Matlock, Smoker, Stu, TMI, Untouchable, Cookout

Preamble:

My last visit to the Norseman I was encouraged to grab Q. Three months later it finally came up the first slot I could find on the Q sheet. As the last few pax show up at 5:29 we were encouraged by an unnamed pax to hide around the corner. There we stood while TMI, Callahan and son wondered aloud about where we may have gone. The clock ticked away so we ventured out to their surprise (A bit of a reverse lumbergh [Call back from probably 7 years ago]) and took off across the lot.

Warm-O-Rama:

Circled up and redisclaimered to be sure of all liability release and hit some Mtn Climbers, Weed Pickers, Walkers, and arm circles.

The Thang:

Down to the field where pax took a lap while I set up (setup being put my board where i needed it). Headlamps were abandoned since the lights were on for us. Instructions were as followed: Teams of 2 would study the board facing away from the field behind the goal post. They could review the board and then would do each count and exercise starting at the goal line and at each 10 yard interval. However, if in moving across the field either partner forgot or was not sure of the exercise they must go back to the board and then start over from the beginning. The board had the following:
  • 19 SSH (0 yard line)
  • 24 Squats (10)
  • 12 Mercans (20)
  • 19 Big Bois (30)
  • 17 Peter Parker (40)
  • 7 Burpees (50)
  • 23 American Hammer (40)
  • 16 Lunges (30)
  • 18 Shoulder Taps (20)
  • 14 Jump Squats (10)
  • 21 Diamond Mercans (0)
Most groups did not even get to the 50 before having to go back the first time. YHC and team made it past Burpees but had to return and made sure our team of three memorized the rest (but it was close as I nearly forgot the last couple of exercises). 3 other pairs just teamed up together and were making great progress until Shoulder Taps. They decided to just do Stone Mountains instead and were called out on this error. They all stalled and had to return. The other group of two were right on our tail but we would not let them know it was Shoulder Taps and they had to return giving us the win (not that it was a competition). You can claim I helped or knew the board but I honestly had not looked at it this morning and was struggling to remember counts and even a couple of things I wrote down.
  • After everyone made it across we worked together to reverse the counts and get back to the other side of the field.
Plenty of time left so we took off to the pavillion for the start of a dora that would include 100 dips, 200 lbcs and hopefully not need 300 because I had nothing left to suggest. Sure enough the clock struck 6:15 but having started a minute late I made sure we planked just past time to get a proper 45 minutes in.

COT:

Prayers for those traveling and just needing to hear from other pax and any other healing. It was great being back at Norseman and as I say everytime, I really should drop in more. I helped launch this the first week and know that they have an incredible group of pax and always great chatter.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Always a pleasure to lead and defeat the morning brain fog.
