The Thang:
June 6 (tomorrow) is the 81st anniversary of D-Day. Last year was big (80) but each year we should honor such bravery.
The Screaming Eagles began their training at Mt. Currahee right here in Georgia. Mt Currahee is 3 miles up and 3 miles down (or 5k up and 5k down). We don’t have a 3 mile hill so we went to the back hill by Stu’s retention pond and did 5 times up and back down the hill.
Having achieved our Mountain training goal we headed to the coupon pile to grab a coupon and head to the football field, which, today, is our beach landing.
Beach Landing/Secure the Area
Partner up. While one partner does a set of exercises, other partner Bernie’s to the 50 and run back. Flapjack. Exercises:
Curls
Shoulder Press
Bent Rows
Tricep Extensions
Sumo Squats
Clear the Battlefield
Area is now secure and time to clear the battlefield. While one partner does 15 Alpha lunges, other partner bear crawls to the 30 (stay low) and then does 15 LBCs. Plank until partner gets in then swap. LBC buy bear crawls to 40 while Lunge guy does 15 Alpha Lunges. So on to the next 40, 20 and goal line, swapping each time. At the goal line, decided the battlefield was clear, so mosey back to the other goal line.
Team Regroup
Regrouped into teams of 5 to build team cammaradie:
Merkins (100 for team)
Squats (200 for team)
LBCs (300 for team)
Final Mission
Victory was declared, so time to take a victory lap around the field as a full team.
Return coupons and back to the flag for 5 minutes of Mary.
COT:
Prayers for DeLorean/TP neighbor’s family whose MIL passed.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Coffeteria discussion was great. We went from beer bongs to Christmas tree lights. What a treasure these discussions are.
Thanks for letting me lead and being such great troopers.
