PAX (5): Cheneral, Dark Side, Speedo, vertigo, Zohan
Preamble:
I signed up for Thursday, but when DC2 was a no show stepped up to lead. Not showing up to your own Q is a serious offense that I most definitely did not do twice at the Gladiator and I think once at Rubicon.
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey to the top pavilion, near the lake. Circle up for some stuff. If i recall correctly, it included Weed Pickers, Hill Billies, Willie Hayes Mays (I really should stop leading this one, as it takes me two minutes every time to look up how to spell his name), World's greatest stretch and Moroccan Night Club.
The Thang:
We run to the field and circled up. YHC showed 3 plank positions - UP (high plank, ass high like in a dry dock position), DOWN (low plank, ass high) and FORWARD (low plank, move your elbows forward till your back and legs are in a straight line). For the next few minutes we shifted between these positions, sometimes quickly and sometimes holding a position for several seconds. Added some chili jacks and arm/leg raises in between.
We run toward the coupon pile and took a hard left at the zebra crossing, climbing to the parking lot at the top via the narrow trail. Split into two groups of 2 and 3 PAX for a Dora. 100 big boy sit-ups, 200 squats and 200 LBCs. The other pax runs down the trail to the crossing and back up.
There an option for me to hand over the keys to another PAX for the reminder term, but based on popular vote I remained the Q. Moseyed down to the trail that goes behind the fields, for Catch me if you can. One PAX lunges along the trail, while the other 4 do 8 Burpees each and catch up. Then another one PAX lunges. Rinse and repeat till everyone lunged and did 32 Burpees total. Second set same format with Bernie and 10 Jump Squats. Finished with a walking 10 count that got us almost back on the road and we moseyed to the flag.
360 Merkins - I remember doing it at the Wreck several years ago. I guess I've forgotten how bad that one was. Start a plank with your feet next or on the curb. Do a Merkin (or Derkin, doesn't mater). Keeping your hands in place, rotate your body 180 degrees by moving your legs around, do a merkin. Now keep your legs in place and rotate your body 180 degrees by moving on your hands. You should be getting farther away from this curb and closer to the other one. Do a Merkin. Rinse and repeat, rotating your body while keeping hands or feet in place till you get to the other side.
Last few minutes - Mary. I forgot what we started with, but Speedo called for 3000 Gas Pumpers (give or take 99%) till time run out.
