Norsemen Field Day

AO: Norseman

When: 2025-05-13

QIC: Chapter 11

PAX (11): Callahan, Cam's, Chapter 11, DeLorean, Ha-ha, Knight Rider, Matlock, PushBack, Smoker, Stu, Tumbleweed

Preamble:

It’s been a minute since we had a chapter 11 Q, and things were shaping up nicely with all the rain in the forecast to make for an extra gloomy beatdown. But unfortunately the skies cleared and we had a beautiful morning. Maybe next time we’ll get a nice downpour. With end of school activities upon us in May, I decided that it was time for the PAX to do some training for upcoming elementary school field day activities - so a field day-themed competition beatdown was in order.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the parking lot for a standard Norsemen Warm-o:
  1. Lap around the parking lot
  2. SSH
  3. Weed Pickers
  4. Imperial Walker
The PAX split into two teams and elected captains (YHC and Delorean) and the captain were responsible for picking out a coupon. Then down to the field for the competition:

The Thang:

First Competition pitted team chapter 11 versus team DeLorean in a shuttle race. PAX had to run, side shuffle, and Bernie through a shuttle course with Merkins, squats, and mountain climbers at each cone station. The Merkin round went to team Chapter, Squat round went to team Delorean, but team chapter took the third and final decisive round in the mountain climbers. From there, we moved into an individual event with a classic sack race, with a twist. PAX raced down the field with a 100 yard burpee broad jump race with DeLorean and taking the crown. Next step was a partner competition, with a classic wheelbarrow race 100 yards down the field the other way. Smoker and PushBack took the top spot. Next, it was back into teams for an American Hammer relay. PAX had to lay on the ground and pass a coupon, American Hammer style, and then race down to the other end of their team line to continue the progression down the field. First team down the field wins. Team DeLorean took the W here. Finally, it was a classic American football throw, with teams, trying to hit the crossbar from 10 yards out. First team to hit the crossbar wins the round, with the losing team having to do exercises while the other team moseyed (very slowly, I might add) around the field. Everybody got stronger and so we were all winners in the end.

COT:

Prayers for Ha-Ha who will have surgery in September for his prostate cancer, with a significant road to recovery post-op. Also, special thanks to PushBack for visiting the Norsemen and bringing some challenge coins from the 10 year anniversary.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Grateful for these men who push me to get better! I’m no Slick, but thanks for playing along with my games.
