Preamble:

A call for a Q and as I just quietly passed my 8th anniversary in F3 and at Rubicon I stepped up to relive some great moments in lumbergh history. Ha-ha took time out of his day to write a whole song for me about being the pulse of Rubicon and my quirky beatdowns. I was touched and he surely captured my spirit. Do I still have it with the luscious locks chopped off? Did I ever have it?

Warm-O-Rama:

A little mosey around the lot and circled up for the usual bits. Aiinnight (or is it ahlrite?), let’s hit the HOD.

The Thang:

We first travel back to my first beatdown that was celebrating Peanut’s 31st birthday. We did not do nearly as many rounds this morning but I call some exercises that I immediately disregarded as I pulled up my weinke to confirm the actual items.

  • Run up the hill forward and back and then run up the hill backward and back
  • 31 Big Bois
  • 31 Lunges
  • 31 Hammers
  • 31 Squats

We skip ahead to my VQ that occurred later that year in August. From my first beatdown, I wanted to bring some quirky idea. My problem then is I brought a dead speaker, so with a new chance and a rapt audience and a charged speaker I tried again with the routine ‘Ramones of Fire’. Done to the tune ‘Rock n Roll High school’ the pax do high knees and hit a burpee every time they hear Rock n Roll High School. I stand by this being a good one and was left sweating and winded on a chilly morning.

  • Off to the pool lot for a Dora, the other part of my VQ. One runs the island loop while others do:
  • 100 Presses
  • 150 Curls
  • 300 Rows that was changed to 150 Rows and 150 Skull Crushers

Rocks are returned and we remember the time I was site Q and led a beatdown so horrific that the city closed down parks everywhere for a month (Covid may have also been an impact). This part was a Mercan Mile with 5 reps at each street lamp or light source regardless of direction all the way back to the flag.

  • Since the song called for it I had to have some Star Wars trivia. Pax were to name the movie based on episode number and do either Burpees or Jump Squats based on the answer. Most were covered but apparently not a lot of nerdom in this group today and thankfully we hit time before having to do a burpee.

COT:

Remember some guys and beatdowns with these sources:

Thanks to those sharing kind words about my history in F3 Alpha. Every description that was said is exactly how I want to be remembered and so I am thrilled and honored to hear it. I am forever changed and blessed for having found this group and to be made a better person through it and owe so much to this crew. The chatter and prodding and stories really makes my morning and I look forward to the next 8.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Always a pleasure to lead, Aiinnight!
