Preamble:

Spandex was gracious enough to switch with me last week. I was still recovering from a highly annoying cold. Fortunately feeling much much better. Came a bit early today, as yesterday I had an alarm fail and didn't want to take chances today. Parking lot was empty when I came but it became full very fast. Amazing start!

Warm-O-Rama:

No FNGs. Disclaimer given. Mosey in the parking lot with high knees and ass kickers. 2 sprints on the road. circle up in the right field for a basic warmup - SSH, Weed Pickers, Imperial Walkers and Squats. OYO Arm Circles as we move other to the left field.

The Thang:

4 small goals that were already there were perfect for the 4 Corners I planned. Modified Dark Webbs (look it up at www.F3Alpha.com/Exicon). Each corner was dedicated to one of 4 exercises, variations of the regular ones:
  • (Captain Thor) Birth Canal sit-up to 4 alpha count American Hammers
  • (Jack Webb) Hand Release Merkin to 4 Air Presses
  • (Lt. Dan) Squat to 4 single count Bonnie Blairs
  • (Voldemort) Body Bag Burpees (the one with the plank jack) to 4 SSH
First round is 1:4 at each corner, second round 2:8, ... go all the way to 10:40. I was sure we're not going to finish but I think a few did and most or all were somewhere in their 10th round. YHC called recover when we had 1.5 minutes to go back to the flag and I think someone called Tempo Merkins, though not sure if anyone else did any.

COT:

Convergence and Halpha Day upcoming Saturday; Gladiator sponsoring NLB the following Saturday.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

During the prayer part of the COT, like in most that I lead, I mention that we're here on earth to help others. Well, I had an opportunity to practice it right away. A young man came to us at the COT and talked with some guys. I was thinking to EH him but learned he's homeless and hungry. Got him some breakfast and we talked. I'd appreciate if you can suggest some ideas or contacts. He needs to find a place to stay and a place to work. Otherwise he'll be stuck like this forever. Are you familiar with programs that may help? According to him, and I hope he was truthful, he is not using any alcohol or substances, so NLB didn't sound like a good fit. Maybe something at your church?
