Countdown to 59

AO: Boneyard

When: 2025-02-03

QIC: Speedo

PAX (11): Busboy, Daisy, FannyPack, Floater, Half-Dozen, Liquor, Mater, Mounty, Shrimp, Speedo, Stifler (Boneyard Site Q)

Preamble:

We welcomed Mater back to the gloom after a longer than expected recovery from an injury. Daisy was back after some travels and a lot of regulars filled out a good group. This was an early birthday Q for me but let's not talk about that. Disclaimer...go.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey this way and that until we stopped for:
  • SSH IC x12
  • Copperhead squats IC x12
  • IW IC x12
  • Phelps and monkey arms OYO
  • Some yoga moves to get us stretched out a bit more

The Thang:

Headlamps had been recommended on Slack the night before. We headed up past the land cleared for a new fire station and discovered all the sidewalks were jacked up. We stopped at the bank for some ATMs which included 12 IC Alternating Shoulder Taps, 12 IC Tempo merkins and 12 OYO merkins. We practiced another yoga-like move which informed the next activity. Mosey back to the park and just through the tunnel. We partnered up for some dora fun. P1 runs the loop around the pond (where headlamps definitely came in handy) and P2 does the exercise. The fun included:
  • Turkish get-ups x50
  • Slap Claps x100 - deep squatty potty and slap the ground up to an OH clap
  • HR merkins x150 - modified to a run up the path and back on this one
  • Wall sits for the six in the tunnel
After a terrible 10-count, we moseyed up the stairs and to the lacrosse field. Four corners ab work with 25 reps plus 3 burpees at each corner:
  • LBCs
  • BBSUs
  • Freddies 4-count
  • Monkey Humpers (abs right?)
That left just enough time for us to get back to the flag for some more yoga fun and some mary.

COT:

Stifler has a big presentation today that he's going to absolutely kill. Also, he'll be traveling a bit over the coming weeks. Praises that Mater could get back out and prayers for continued healing in his foot. Praises for strong bodies and this community of men.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I mentioned this last week and thought I'd memorialize it here. Try to become more aware of the expectations you have of your spouse (or significant other, kids, family, etc.) and note which expectations are ASSUMED vs. those that are AGREED. Some expectations can be assumed (e.g. who cooks dinner vs. empty the dishwasher) while others would be better if they were agreed. There are no fixed rules on this; it's just a reminder to be aware of this distinction and to try not to let expectations that should be agreed fall into the assumed category. I love you guys and appreciate you taking my lead this morning. --Speedo out
