Between Epic and Ho-Hum

AO: Rubicon

When: 2024-06-25

QIC: False Start

PAX (8): Dipstick, Focker, Groundhog, Irene, Lil Hurt, Mater, Special K

I took the last minute Q and told the PAX that the plan would be somewhere between Epic and Ho-Hum.  I believe I delivered.

Ran to the cheese grater and did the following:
  • SSH
  • Hillbilly
  • Mountain Man Poopers (this was a first for many PAX, they all enjoyed it!)
  • Weedpicker
  • Arm Circles (forwards & backwards)
Ran to the field of dreams to do a field of dreams routine.

The Thang:

Chatter the night before had me thinking baseball.  Congrats to the Vols for their first ever college baseball World Series.  They won 6-5 in the final game, so used 11 as the rep count for home-plate exercises. Broke up into 4 groups of two (perfect balance that I clearly planned ahead of time).  Groups went to their respective bases and weren't allowed to move to the next base until the group behind came to the base to advance them.  AMRAP at all bases, except home plate. Here's how it broke out:
  • 1st Base: Squats
  • 2nd Base: Merkins
  • 3rd Base: LBCs
  • Home Plate: 11 Burpees
After this we did an escalator at the outfield fence:
  • Right field: 25 Lunges (single count)
  • Center Field: 25 Lunges + 25 Dolly
  • Left Field: 25 Lunges + 25 Dolly + 25 Merkins
  • Home Plate: 25 Lunges + 25 Dolly + 25 Merkins + 25 Freddy Mercury
Mosey to the rock pile by the pool. Modified Colt-45 with a rifle carry around the island after each exercise:
  • 15 Curls
  • 15 Overhead Press
  • 15 Bentover Rows
Repeat it again because we had time. Mosey back to the flag for some Mary:
  • Fire Hydrants (10 each side and then repeat again)
  • E2K (15 each side)
That's time!

Talk of a 2.0 friendly BD soon Dipstick volunteered to manage the region calendar...thanks! Positive news for Irelyn and her family (10-year old cousin to my children who has kidney cancer) Prayers of protection of those traveling or will be traveling over the holidays.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

There's something fun about taking a last minute Q. I had one routine planned and after that it was just a basic string of pearls while I watched the clock.  Good chatter and epic time, no time for ho-hums here. Until next time!
