YHC wanted to try a different Christmas-themed BD this year. After watching a late night rerun of Die Hard, figured that would give a good background for the next BD. Had to brush up on German numbers from high school. It was an early morning for pre-BD setup activities. An obligatory Christmas soundtrack was prepared.
Headed to the parking lot by the football field. After the disclaimer and theme were given, YHC lead the warm-up by doing the cadence in German (terrorist spoke German in the movie).... eins, zwei, drei.. Heard some other PAX join in German, Spanish, maybe French...
10 Mountain Climbers
20 Arm circles
Thing #1 - Sevens with John and Hans
PAX grabbed a coupon and lined up on one side of the parking lot with a poster of John McClane (hero). At the other end of the parking lot was a poster of Hans Gruber (villain). PAX did combination of curls with coupon by John, then ran down to Hans at the far end and did donkey kicks on the wall for total of 7. After each set of donkeys kicks, PAX were instructed to yell Yippie-ki-yay __ at Hans.
Thing #2 - Nakatomi Tower
PAX ran over to the stadium where there was a poster of the Nakatomi tower building. PAX were instructed to do box jumps up the stairs to the top of the "tower" where two Christmas trees awaited them adorned with candy canes. Each candy cane had an exercise attached. PAX took a candy cane, performed the exercise, then moseyed back down the tower to rinse and repeat.
Candy Can exercises
15 Big Boys
15 Plank Jacks
15 Monkey Humpers
Thing #3 - Let's kill some terrorists
12 posters were setup along the football field with a picture of each terrorist from Die Hard. Each terrorist had an associated exercise that each PAX had to perform to kill the terrorist. There was a bonus activity of replaying the scene in the movie where Bruce Willis crawled through the air vents. YHC taped a few boxes together and PAX had to army crawl through the box with their coupon.
