It’s been hot and humid! You can see fall right around the corner but you can’t quite reach it from here. So to beat the dog days of summer it was time for some Christmas music and everyone’s favorite winter pastime: Curling!
One loop around the big lot and back to the middle. Circle for:
Curling. You know, the sport where you slide granite stones down the ice to a target. Closest one to the middle of the target wins.
Well, no ice this time of year at the Norseman. So we improvised.
Two furniture dollies in the big lot will do.
Each team takes a turn. One PAX sits (or lays down) on the furniture dolly and the team pushes him hard to get him roll 100 feet to the target. Careful! Don’t step over the Hog Line or it is a fault.
Winning team takes a lap of the parking lot doing exercises with the girlfriends at each corner:
10 Curls (the bicep kind)
10 Overhead Press
Losing team does Burpees until the winner return.
Scoring was.. how shall I say it? One sided. Team 2 dominated. Team 2 did choose Burpees a couple of time after winning to give team 1 a break.
After round 7 we ran to the step up wall and did 15 step ups each leg.
Last round was worth a whopping 50 points! Winner take all.
Team 1 went first with a great push that got the “stone” just wide left. All team 2 had to do was put it down the middle. Team 2 went wide right. The Q ran down to access the results. Heel to tow the Q walked off 9 feet from team 1 to the center of the bullseye. Walked off team 2… 9 feet. Tie.
Back to the flag.
