Grabbed the Q yesterday when I saw the hole in the schedule. I think about a third to a half of my Qs are last moment, rather than signed up in advance. Just saying that if you don’t like my Qs (I HAVE been ex-communicated from Windjammer before) all you need to do is put your own name on the list.
Last week of 6am start time. Stu called me out to come and pre-ruck so of course I did. I would have thought about it anyway, but not sure I would have done it if it was just me. Really appreciate the fellowship and encouragement. When I showed up there were already 3 other Ruckers waiting and 1 runner. I tried to convince him to Ruck with us, but for naught. Sometime later another runner showed up.
Disclaimer was given and we moseyed all the way to Creek View Elementary. It’s the last day before school, so I thought a sneak a-peak might be in order. How was I to know the same location was visited last week??
After the long-ish run we circled up for SSH. 44 of them, in cadence, as this is also my last week being 44yo. Added Weed Pickers, Arm circles, Willie Mays Hayes and World’s Greatest Stretch.
There are two challenges for August. Windjammer are doing 100 Merkins a day (or more, if you want). Script Kiddie, our Challenge Q (is this an official role???) called out AMRAP month. Every day 3 sets of AMRAPs. August 1st was Arms. Today Legs. Tomorrow Core. rinse and repeat.
So… Let’s combine them!
Called out to do AMRAP Merkins and run a lap. AMRAP LBCs and run a lap. AMRAP Jump Squats and run a lap. Remember your numbers.
Circled up for the 6. A quick 10 count and rinse and repeat. Add your numbers for both rounds. (I also mentioned some math skills in the pre-blast, so there it is).
Circled up for the 6 and another quick 10 count. There was a secret goal to be reached – 100 Merkins, 125 Jump Squats and 150 LBCs. No running. Finish up whatever you’ve got left. Burpees for the 6. We all helped the 6 finish some jumps and recover.
Grab a pole for balance – 25 IC Calf Raises. 15 OYO Single Leg Squats each leg.
