The sun had barely thought about opening its eyes when 18 stout-hearted fellows assembled for what would become the F3 Gladiator Q. Ah, such bravery in the face of impending exertion! Our fair disclaimer was quickly uttered with the brevity of a mayfly’s lifetime, before we embarked on our mosey.
Why, some might inquire, ‘did you ruffians partake in a warm-up?’ Warm-up, you say? In the uncanny chill of pre-dawn, where even the sun is too lazy to rise? Our very presence in such ungodly hour was a warm-up unto itself, my dear fellows!
Our first expedition led us to the coupons – humble tools of self-inflicted torment. Off we marched to the hallowed football pitch, an arena transformed into a battlefield for our noble team races. These daring contests demanded exertions in the form of Merkins, curls, squats, dry docks, and a few others I shan’t bore you with. We wrestled with these with the determination of knights jousting in a royal tournament.
Having paid our dues in sweat and fervour, we returned the coupons to their resting place and journeyed onward. The other pitch beckoned, our next theatre of camaraderie and toil. Here, we engaged in a novel challenge: football dribbling interspersed with the team’s heart-pumping Dollies, big boys, dips, and another exertion that eludes my memory.
Ah, the sting of defeat! For those poor souls who didn’t quite measure up in the competition, a run was the order of the day. For as we well know, chaps, in this life not everyone is deserving of a medal, and a gentle reminder of such never hurts.
The coup de grâce came in the form of Fartlek runs and a touch of Mary. Why, you might ask? For the simple joy of exhausting every ounce of vigor we had left, of course!
So, there you have it, dear compatriots, a recounting of our morning’s jolly exertions. The sun rose higher, our spirits soared, and amidst the sweat and laughter, we found ourselves a touch more robust than when we began. Until our next bout of mirth and muscle, I remain your humble correspondent.
With the utmost respect and a tip of the hat,
Lots of events coming up – Speedo has more details 🙂
