YHC picked up the Q for today early in the week. I had thought of dragging out all the toys for another run through the Gauntlet (That will happen again soon) but as Saturday approached it looked as though turnout might be a bit low so I opted not to drag out all the toys. As it turned out my concerns of a low turnout were unfounded as we had 10 HIMS ready to get a beatdown in the gloom.
Simple but effective is always a great approach to preparing a beatdown. Looking at the “national day” calendar I saw that today was Repeat day. What better way to have fun with repeat day but to do the same thing multiple times.
Disclaimer given twice (not really but I only thought of this after the fact)
Warmed up with a lap around “the balloon” as Valley Girl recently dubbed it.
Then running in place for a minute or so
hillbillies, sun gods, good mornings, willie mays hayes
At the Stairs
10 Merkins at the bottom
10 V ups in the middle (going up and coming down)
10 Squats at the top
Repeat until Q (YHC) decided that it was time to switch stations – Probably around 15 minutes
Mosey back to track
10 Dry docks
Run halfway around inner loop
10 Crunchy frogs
Finish inner loop
Repeat for roughly 15 minutes
Back to thang 1 with a rep count of 15 till there was about 10 minutes left
Then Mosey back to thang 2 for the second go with the rep count of 15
There was some mumble chatter about halfway through that the workout felt like it had already been an hour. I took that as a compliment. And according to the mumble chatterer it was intended as one.
We shared some prayers, some encouragement and finally some coffee.
It was nice to have a good conversation with Tollhouse.
