When an opportunity to do something cuckoo crazy comes up, YHC has, on occasion, said “Sure, why not?” (e.g., marathons, triathlons, etc.). Such was the case with the opportunity to Q for the HAlpha CSAUP. And in this case, it was the opportunity to be a little different- combining a dance party with a coupon beatdown. So, with a veteran crew up at 2 am, their cover charge paid (coupon with a glow stick), we were OFF!

4 corner dropping BOMBS: Pax conduct 5 Blockees, 10 Overhead Presses, 15 block Mercans, 20 Bent rows, 25 Squats. Carry coupon around the parking lot, Zamperini on the shorter sides, farmer’s carry right/left hand on the longer sides. Rinse/repeat, dropping the last exercise until completing the Blockees and doing final travel. Imperial Walker for the 6
11’s pairing Stiff Leg Deadlifts with Kettlebell Swings: Start at one side with Deadlifts, farmer’s carry to middle parking lot stripe, conduct 5 curls, continue to other side for Kettlebell swings. Return, stopping at middle for 5 more curls, then complete the cycles. NOTE: with lightning strikes nearby, time was called at 43 minutes!
Quick COT for count- and name-o-rama, then flee to the cars or overhead shelter ahead of the monsoon.
Most would say that a 2 am beatdown is definitely out of the norm, but not for F3 guys. This was one of those events that build esprit de corps (and lends itself to “I was there when…” stories). It was an honor to Q at the first HAlpha Day, and YHC looks forward to doing it again……
