I enjoyed Qing last week, so I grabbed this week as well. It was time to show off the powerline hill.
No warm-ups, just running.
We left Ocee and made our way up the hill to Kimball Bridge. Running down KB, we dipped into Park Brooke to head for the trail in the back. Down the hill, through the tennis courts, and into the woods taking the uphill turnoff at the three-way intersection.
Its uphill from here, right on Brookside Parkway, Right on Alexander, and straight across Old Milton onto Park Bridge Parkway. Taking the walking path turnoff at the lowest point on the road, we’ve reached the powerline path.
Cross the bridge, watch out for the roots and emerge from the trees to see the hill in all its glory… except its dark, so we can’t see anything. Animal reported that from the back it looked like mountain climbers ascending a mountain – and it felt like it.
Everyone made it up and we circled back at the top to stay together. Left on the KB->Old Milton turn off, hit the crosswalk to get back on KB and all the way back to Ocee where we had time for one lap of the baseball diamonds.
Prayers for Animal’s friend who had a heart attack and recovery surgery at 43.
Halpha Day tomorrow night, 8pm at Rubicon (Wills Park).
Thanks for coming out. With the low HCs on Slack and the Stroller reaction gif, I thought we’d have a small group, but we put up good numbers today.
