PAX (8): Chalupa, Rusty, Sprocket, The Real Woody, The_OG Zima, TheBurn, Thud
YHC had a wild hair just over a month ago and conspired with Switch to covertly jump on Badapple’s Q sheet. Unfortunately, Switch got into a tussle with Bronco during a Hogwallow post-run the evening prior and had to bow out. Thus, YHC was left to his own devices on a balmy Friday morning and wondering if he’d have an opportunity to pull an old classic on Rusty.
Some warm hellos and an audible groan or two as Badapple PAX discovered who their mystery QOD was. Thud, Sprocket and Zima already warm from an early start. As time hit 0530, time to get these boys moving:
Mosey around the parking lot then down to the bottom of Zima’s hill for the following warm-ups:
With PAX properly warm, Q dished out instructions to get the Badapple boys out of their comfort zone, as follows:
Backwards run up Zima’s hill to the cross-walk, then perform 10 Burpees.
Run back to the bottom and perform another 10 Burpees.
Rinse/repeat reducing reps by 1 for each trip up and back.
A few extra trips for the six with a short round of Mary at the top.
Next up, Q decided to give the Badapple boys something more in their wheelhouse. Partner up for some wheelbarrows in the parking lot. Whether by design or not, Rusty was YHC’s partner. Instructions were given as follows:
Wheelbarrow 4 parking spots, then switch roles.
Rinse/repeat all the way to the end of the parking lot.
Run it back on the other side, repeating the same pattern of wheelbarrows back to the start.
T-7 left on the clock, so Q called for PAX to hit Zima’s hill one last time. Run to the bottom, perform 10 split-squats (each leg), backwards run to the top with 10 more split-squats (each leg) at the top. A quick round or two of Mary before time was called – some protestations from those who shall remain nameless that Diamond Merkins don’t qualify as Mary (they do at The Wreck).
TAPs for those dealing with cancer, including Sprocket’s niece Penny and Chalupa’s friend.
TAPs for parents recovering from a stroke, including The Burn’s dad and YHC’s father in-law.
Great to see the Badapple boys, despite Q forgetting his favorite Rush playlist. Suggest that we put together a Roswell mixer at least once a quarter to get the boys together. Anticipating Sprocket returning the favor in the near future.
