YHC back for the second straight week Q’in at Academy. And I’m glad I did, as we had great turnout for what ended up being a burner.
Mosey to the elementary school.
1) Dragon arms– starting on the small track, we did 4 bear crawls, 1 Merkin, 1 Plank Jack, 1 shoulder tap (alpha). Next set had the same exercises but 8/2/2/2 reps, then kept building. 10 sets total, the last being 40 bear crawl steps, 10 Merkins, 10 Plan Jacks, 10 shoulder taps.
2) Dragon Legs– Same structure, but this time the focus was lower body: 4 Duckwalk steps, 1 squat, 1 squat jump, 1 lunge (alpha ).
With our arms and legs sufficiently warmed up, we headed back to the Academy track for the main event.
Tortoise and the Hares
1 Pax started as our tortoise by moving around the track with a cinder block (or shell), while the “hares” performed an exercise, the caught up with our reptilian friend and rotated. Pax #2 would then take off with the coupon, and the rest would complete another round of the same exercise. Once all Pax had a turn being the tortoise, we advanced to the next set. Went A.L.A.R.M. style for the sets: 5 Burpees (Arms), 10 single count Bonnie Blairs (Legs), 15 Crunchy Frogs (Abs), 20 Ranger Merkins (“R” exercise), 25 Mountain climbers (“M” exercise).
Turned out to be a great workout on a track. Filing this one away for future use.
HillSeeker is upon us. While it’s sure to be a fun event once again, TCLAPS to MillerTime and his fellow Yes Men for tying this to such a worthy cause. The Men of No Longer Bound need our support, and this is such a great way to make a difference.
TAPS of strength and perseverance for Cookie & Nacho’s friends (and their families).
