YHC has in mind to get in more strength training beatdowns this year. Bodyweight is great, running and rucking are great, and strength training just adds another layer of durability to our bodies. With that in mind I encouraged everyone to bring a coupon from home. The rocks are great an all, but something with handles and a standard weight is more consistent. Going forward I am going to suggest keeping these available in your vehicle for regular use.

The Thang:

Each PAX was equipped with a coupon of their choosing. There were some dumbells, ruck plates, rucks, and kettlebells.

We did laps around the soccer field and did a set of an exercise at each corner – then rifle carried or farmer carried our coupon to the next corner. After each lap was complete we went to mid field and did a larger set of an exercise. All movement between stations was either rifle carry or farmer carry.

Lap 1 – 5 Coupon burpees at each corner (do a burpee followed by overhead press instead of a jump)

Moved to mid field 40 curls

Lap 2 10 skull crushers at each corner

Moved to midfield 30 Squats with coupon

Lap 3 15 calf raises each corner

Moved to midfield 15 Alpha count Offset merkins

Lap 4 15 lbcs at each corner

YHC thought we would have time for more laps but as it turned out we had just a couple of minutes left.

Seaman shared about his basement flooding. Big challenge to deal with.

He shared an MOC – this experience reminded him that people are more important than things. Something that we would all do well to keep in mind.
