We’re taking ’22 out with kettlebells. There ain’t no other way… Late start – 6:30am
I told the PAX to bring what they have and I would have extras. Everyone had a bell.
SSH x 15
ole Windmill x 10
Imperial Walker x 10
Toy Soldier x 10
U-Hauls – Went around in the circle. Each PAX individually counted one off when it was their turn. So, 10 u-hauls.
Bring the kettlebell to the end of the parking lot near the bathrooms (which was surprisingly busy this morning; must have been our 6:30am start).
Round 1: Partner A will do thrusters with the KB by the bathrooms. Partner B will run to the other end of the parking lot, do 15 mercans, then run back. Then “flap jack.” 4 rounds for each person so each PAX can get in a total of 60 mercans.
Round 2: Partner A will do u-hauls with the KB by the bathrooms. Partner B will run a lap the full length of the parking lot, but will do it with their hands raised in the air. It makes it much harder. Each PAX will run 3 laps.
Round 3: Partner A will do side lunges with the KB by the bathrooms. Partner B will run to the other end of the parking lot, do 10 bonnie blairs (Alpha count), then run back. “Flap jack.” 3 rounds each.
Round 4: Partner A will do V-UPs with the KB by the bathrooms. Partner B will run a lap the full length of the parking lot. Down to the other end, they will run forwards. On the way back, they’ll run backwards. 2 rounds.
Next, we lined up by the bathrooms. All PAX was to do KB Swings. The first person in the line was to sprint to my truck (about 50 yards), then sprint back. When they are halfway to the truck, then next person will go (and so on). Before or after your run, you continue with the swings until the last person in the line returns. After that, we rinse and repeat, but substituted in Halo’s for the KB swings.
There was mention of the appreciation for this group and how we push each other. It’s a special group of guys. We all went and had coffee at Pops afterwards on Goose. Thank you Goose!
We all had a great 2022. Let’s have a better 2023!
