Twas time for a Christmas beatdown, so I dusted off the very first Q I wrote and jazzed it up with a little Christmas spirit!
Mosey around then back to the flag for SSH, Weed Picker, Abe Vigoda, Mountain Man Poopers
Mosey to football field.
Began with Felix Navidad Merkins – the song played and each PAX performed 1 merkin each time they heard either “Merry Christmas” or “Feliz Navidad” (39 times total).
Then a quick mosey to the goal line for instructions on the Crazy 8s Santa Suicides:
Suicide to 20 and back, upon return to the starting goal line you owed 8 Merry Merkins,
suicide to the 40, then 16 Blitzen BBSU
to the other 40, 24 Ornament Outlaws (single count)
to the other 20, 32 Santa Squats.
to the other goal line, 40 Poinsettia Pretzel Sticks.
these were not new exercises, just added some Christmas “flair” to the names
Next circuit we switched the suicide order with same cadence of the circuit of exercises
Next we traveled to the 50 & performed 8 reps of each exercise plus 8 wolverines, went to the opposite goal line and performed 8 reps of all exercises and returned the favor on our way back on the 50
Next was Feliz Navidad in the round– PAX circled up and planked.Played the song – Upon each time hearing either “Merry Christmas” or “Feliz Navidad” a PAX would perform a merkin and return to the plank position. This rotated around the circle as planks were held and 39 merkins were rotated.
Mosey to the flag for boat/canoe.Halt.
Prayers for all of the events happening this weekend and a reminder that “this isn’t about you”.
We should put others before us every day, and every way that we possibly can.
Inseam asked “why 8s”?I explained that when I first started F3, my goal was to do 51% of all the reps for that particular beat down. If the rep was 20 merkins, I would try to do 11. if the reps were 100 bbsu, my goal was 51. My next goal became performing every rep of an entire beat down and I got to that point in a couple months. This was the first Q I ever wrote and I did so because I knew I could do eight reps of every exercise and while some PAX would go through the circuit more than others, I knew what I could achieve and others could do more if they needed to.
I have since grown from that point, and was happy to add incremental reps to the base Q I wrote for years ago. #accelerate
