Birdie put out the call yesterday for a Q at the Bridge. Felt like a sign for YHC to step up and return to the Bridge for the first time in a long while.
We were three strong as the clock hit 0530.
Mosey to the back of the theater. Circle up for:
SSH x 15
Weedpicker x 10
Imperial Walker x 15
Burpees x 5 OYO
Mosey toward the green and go the long way around the loop to the restaurant patio where YHC’s board of pain was set up. Meatball always complains that there is no music when YHC is the Q, so YHC asked someone to bring some tunes. Birdie had a slick ’70s-’80s rock playlist ready for us.
Routine 1 was a slightly modified Fantastic 50. Individually, complete 50 of each exercise, with a lap around the green between each exercise:
Jump Tucks (this sucked)
Big Boy Situps
L-Sit Hold (this also sucked)
Burpees (this did not suck, this was fantastic)
With about 10 minutes on the clock, YHC brought out the 40 lb sandbag for some quick sandbag work.
Each man completes 10 of a sandbag exercise while the other two men are completing AMRAP of an exercise. With the sandbag, we hit thrusters, bent-over rows, and upright rows. Other exercises were gas pumper, mercans, squats I believe.
About 4 minutes left, so take it back to the flag. Time for LBCs, flutter kicks, and American hammers. 30 second low plank, and that was it.
Prayers for stress relief and for our health through this season
I needed this today. Thankful for the opportunity to lead these men
