YHC had a whole thing planned on the field involving sandbags and misery. We still had sandbags and misery just under the pavilion.
Warm up – standards – SSH, Weed Picker, Sun Gods, Imperial Squat Walkers etc.
The beatdown I had planned was not going to happen due to the torrential storm with lots of thunder and lightnin that occurred – But the beatdown that happened was plenty strenuous.
0.0 beatdown with sandbags and assorted challenges.
As this was made up on the fly I don’t remember all the exercises – but it essentially was 10 reps of 2 exercises alternating back and forth for the duration of the song. Each song brought 2 new movements that were alternated back and forth.
There were sand bag curls, hammer curls, squat thrusters, lunges, a sandbag complex consisting of a bent over row, followed by a sandbag deadlift, followed by a sandbag clean, followed by a thruster then repeat.
There were Flutter kicks with sand bag overhead, LBCs, Merkins, Nolan Ryans and other various movements hitting upper and lower body and abs.
COT took place under tha pavilion. Some good thoughts were shared over coffee. Some challenges were issued in reference to our interactions with our Ms and families. We all agreed to read the book “What Radical Husbands Do” by Regi Joiner. I have read this before and it’s a challenging read.
As much as I had been looking forward to dragging Sandbags up and down the field this was a good opportunity to push ourselves in a more strength focused way. As always I enjoyed leading immensely.
