Many American products are made of parts manufactured across the globe and assembled at the states. Similarly, YHC is still a work in progress and while the initial manufacturing was done overseas, 14 years ago to the day I came with my family to the states and much of who I am today was shaped on American soil, majority of it in the last 4+ years of F3.
Cox was kind enough to give me the Q for today to celebrate both 14 years in the states and my recent naturalization – I’ve been a citizen for 10 days now!
11 men were waiting for Speedo and me to finish the Ruck. One of them FNG. Disclaimer was given in a flawless American accent. YHC tried to provide a full disclaimer for the benefit of the FNG. Music was turned on.
Moseyed around the parking lot and back into the field. Circle up for SSH, Weed Pickers, Hill Billies, Moroccan Night Clubs and Squats. YHC’s mind was jumping to the next segment and so the cadence calls were less than perfect, even confusing squats with copper head squats.
Next YHC called for OYO Burpees, no specific number. The premise – A question will be asked and we can stop the moment the right answer is said. We begun and after YHC did 5-6 Burpees I asked ‘How many words are in the Pledge of Allegiance?’.
As expected, the PAX did not know the answer and had a difficult time counting words while doing Burpees. The song that was timed to this segment was Scatman, with the hopes that a lyric-heavy song will make it harder to focus. Not sure it was needed. The Burpees did their job. Wild guesses were thrown and it took a good 2 minutes till the right answer was called (guessed, really) – 31.
We moseyed to the end line where a Board of Pain was waiting. To celebrate YHC becoming a citizen there was an American theme – 13 exercises, 50 reps each to be done OYO. After each exercise the PAX will run to the other end of the soccer field for 1 Kraken Burpee (Burpee with 3 Merkins) and back.
Suggested modifications – reduce 13 reps but run a full lap, or increase 13 reps and do the Kraken Burpee mid field.

The gazelles started a Mary and at some point we went to help the remaining PAX complete the Merkins. Not everyone finished but YHC decided to call recover. There was a disorganized 10 count and we moseyed up to the pavilion
To celebrate 14 years in the state we did a few exercises with 14 reps count – 14 Box Jumps (modify to step up as needed), 14 Dips, 14 Calf Raises, 14 Bulgarian Split Squats (one legged squats with the other leg behind you on the bench) each leg. TMI was showing his balance by modifying to Flamingo Squats (one legged squats, the one leg in the air).
Rinse and Repeat.
We moseyed back to the flag for a quick Mary of Freddie Mercury and OYO BBSU.
Operation, who’s recovering from injuries, joined us for the COT.
YHC shared some words about moving to the states, leaving most of the family behind and then finding family within F3 years later.
We named the FNG Delivery Boy based on his experience as a navy pilot.
