Last Friday was the big 4-0, and there was celebrating to do at the Norseman. It was a milestone birthday which got me thinking about milestones in other areas of life. So I said to myself, “self, let’s go have a day”…so we did.
Mosey up the hill and down the road to keep the PAX guessing on where we were going. Circled up on the road near the softball fields for some SSH, Imperial Walkers and Weed Pickas. Mosey continued down the road to the baseball fields on the left.
We came to the small concrete track between the baseball fields and I talked about milestones in life for a second. Yes, I turned 40, but another milestone in my life happened in September 2018. I had moved from Johns Creek to Milton and was way too far from my Hooch buddies at that AO, and I told myself that I didn’t have an AO nearby (insert ridicule from Rubicon PAX here). Well, Nacho posted on Twitter that a new AO opened less than a mile from my house and there went my excuse. So I showed up for the third workout at the Norseman on 9/11/18 and the rest is history. That has been a milestone in my life as F3 has meant more to me than I ever would have imagined. So I decided to go back to the location of that first workout from 2018 where Scar, Nacho, Ha-ha and I were joined by Burns(send carrier pigeon if you’re reading this and need help…we haven’t seen you in two years and you’re missed…).
Enough lead up…we did 11s on the track. Split the group in half to spread out the PAX with one side starting with ten dips, and the other side doing 1 step up. Circled up for air chair until the 6 was in, then we did 7s at the same spot. This time we split it up between merkins on the far end, and donkey kicks at the concession stand. Crikey led us through a looooong plank session as the 6 came in.
Moseyed back down the main road towards the flag when YHC noticed that there was still time for activities, so we turned left towards turf field 2. We set up on the goal line and I told the PAX that I love Bear Crawls…not as much as Bear Claws…but I am a fan of the crawl. SO we Bear Crawled 40 yards, lunge walked to the opposite 40 yard line, then ran backwards 40 yards to the opposite goal line. Lined up again and did high knees to the 40, ten burpees at the 40 yard line, then backwards run to the goal line. Moseyed back to the flag, but put in some DB drills along the way. Shout out to Pepper as he yelled, “Callahan, now you’re just making stuff up!”. He was incorrect, as I had been making stuff up since 5:30. Stick with me Pepper, you’ll learn some things…
Mary consisted of flutter kicks, freddie mercury, dying cockroaches and finished out with some T-bombs. We learned that we need to reinforce the “next exercise is…starting position move…in cadence…exercise” lines as we had something that resembled “fire…aim…shoot…draw…ready!…” but the PAX delivered as usual.
