Honestly don’t remember how in depth the disclaimer was. Probably minimal. Jumped out of the cars, said a quick hello, and we were off.
Short mosey to the pavilion to avoid the rain.
10 Weed Pickers
10 Mountain Climbers
10 One-Armed SSHs
10 Other Arm SSHs
QIC wanted to attempt the One-legged SSHs. Maybe another day
5-10-15-15-10-5 Reps (Yes, 15 twice) of an Exercise with (10) Step Ups and (3) burpees between each set of Reps (i.e (5) EXERCISE 1 – (10) Step Ups – (3) burpees; (10) EXERCISE 1 – (10) Step Ups – (3) burpees; etc)
Exercise 1: MERKINS
Exercise 2: JUMP SQUATS
Exercise 3: BBSUs
Match Drill: QIC took the lead for a 2-2-2 simulation wrestling match
First Period – NEUTRAL (standing): On our feet running in place as QIC called out various exercises. Exercises included burpees, monkey humpers, SSHs. Intermittent calls of “sprawl” instructed PAX to drop to their stomach and return to feet as quickly as possible
Second Period – TOP: PAX started in a plank position as QIC called out various exercises. Exercises include mountain climbers, merkins, diamond merkins. Intermittent calls of “over” (plank position) and “through” (staying on feet and hands PAX rotated hips so that their torso faced the ceiling”.
Third Period – BOTTOM: PAX started in a plank position as QIC called out various exercises. Exercises included BBSUs, Gas Pumpers, American Hammers. Repeated intermittent calls of “over” and “through”
OVERTIME!! – NEUTRAL (standing): On our feet again as PAX failed to win the match in regulation. Gotta finish strong. Repeated the NEUTRAL exercises as before.
Impressive victory by the PAX to advance to the next round – QIC turned over the keys to Laces for the final match.
Second match included repeat of exercises above along with PAX partnering up and “hand fighting” with each other on their feet (each PAX trying to control the other partners wrists/arms). Not sure PAX executed this particular drill as was intended. Judging by the amount of giggling going on…probably not.
Short Mary by DC2 and return to the flag/shelter.
Lifting Speedo and family up in prayers. Prayers for peace, comfort, and healing for his father.
Alice safe travels home across the Atlantic. An inspiration over the past few weeks to see living proof that age is just a number.
Reflecting on the legacy and lessons I learned from my Dad on his 2nd Heavenly Birthday. He was always “INTENTIONAL” in his relationship with QIC and Laces. Striving to carry on his legacy by being intentional with my wife, kids, friends, co-workers, strangers, and God.
Thankful for my f3 brothers and opportunity to lead.
