I had been wanting to do a sandbag workout ever since I got a sandbag for Christmas. I did a trial run of this workout with my 60 lb Go Ruck sand bag on Monday and it was….devastating, to say the least. For this workout we used lighter weight bags between 25 and 40 lbs. Still devastating but doable by all PAX.
Moseyed to pick up two extra sandbags for the DR guys from the Churam region (Malware and Potter) then back to the warm up area.
Each PAX completed:
10x Sandbag Thrusters
10x Merkins (with or without bag)
10x Alpha count lunges with sandbag
10x 4 count Flutter Kicks with sandbag
1 lap “ruck” with sandbag
This was AMRAP in 30 minutes – All PAX completed 6 rounds.
“Stair Bears” – Bear carry the sandbag to the top of the stairs
At the top complete 6 pull through merkins (merkin and pull the sandbag under you to the other side. Then another merkin and pull the sandbag back through)
All PAX completed 2 rounds and then we were out of time.
Script Kiddie shared an acceleration point – “the difference between being a Champ and a Chump – is U. Also how we often learn more from our defeats than our victories – Dunshire added that at the same time we should try to do analysis on our wins to see what it was that made us successful. i.e. how Chick Fil A does things. Taking ownership of situations to help learn and grow in both victory and defeat
Prayers for Amerie, prayers for my family
Coffeteria – good conversation
Lengthy conversation after with Script Kiddie, me and Steve (the Dawsonville parks manager) who happened to be driving by about some 3rd F things. Good conversation.
