Stu told me he was banned from Q-ing at his own AO, something about playing too much Adele. So I helped a brother out and filled an open slot this week to Q. While I mostly side with the rest of the Norseman on the Adele thing, I couldn’t help but pick at it a bit (sorry Stu!). Preblast had the following:
Hello, it’s me, your Mystery Q. I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet. I don’t think this BD will go ‘Easy on Me,’ but ‘All I Ask’ is that you feel ‘Tired’ and not give me a ‘Cold Shoulder.’ After this, it’s hopefully ‘Water Under the Bridge.’
Mosey over to the upper parking lot. We found out that Stu’s favorite Adele album was ’25,’ more on that later. We did some:
Mountain Man Poopers (rumor has it Ha-Ha was there when that was invented, he demonstrated it VERY well)
Mosey down to the football field for our first Thang.
The Thang #1
Because of that love of Adele that we’ve heard so much of, our first set of exercises has to spell out Adele. Starting at the goal line, run 20 yards and complete an exercise (25, for Stu’s favorite album), then run backwards to the goal line and start again, adding another 20 yards and another exercise each time:
A merican Hammers (alpha count)
D iamond Merkins
E 2K (pick a side)
Lunges (alpha count)
E 2K (pick the opposite side)
For those that finish early, work your way back down.
The Thang #2
With that behind us, hopefully any further Adele references will be as well. We broke into two teams and played rock, paper, scissors. The winning team ran, the losing team was supposed to do the wager from both teams. The Norseman are some crazy guys, so the wagers were nuts, so we just did as many as we could while the winning team ran. Learning: My team was really bad at RPS.
The Thang #3
Mosey over to the pavilion and partner up. 1 partner Balls to the Wall or Wall Sit while the other partner completed 25 dips by the playground. Completed 2 rounds before we ran out of time and went back to the flag.
Reminder for the Blood Drive coming up. Dipstick is at the Q Thursday, he’ll probably. bring a laptop and sign you up on the spot (heads up).
Reminder of the convergence in May at the Norseman.
Welcome Wagonwheel! (Sorry you aren’t allowed at some bars anymore.)
It’s always fun to get out to other AOs, but a bit nerve-racking to Q one that you don’t visit regularly. It’s one of those things where you don’t regret it after you’ve done it, but do if you don’t. So get out there and get uncomfortable (that’s what this is all about anyway, right?) and try to Q at an AO that you’ve only visited once or twice.
