Preamble:
Our buddy Fanny Pack had to sit out today, so YHC jumped on my first opportunity to lead Rubicon in 2022. We had 3 pre-runners who engaged in some good conversation while getting a nearly 3 mile run in.
The last time I Q’d I heard some grumbling about the lack of a quality disclaimer, so I tried to bring my A game today on the disclaimer front. The rest of the BD is easy breezy for the Q when you hit that disclaimer just right. And we are off!
Warm-O-Rama:
Quick mosey to the parking lot in front of the old rec center for the following Warm-O-Rama:
- SSH
- Weedpickers
- Imperial Walkers
- Toy Soldier
- Arm circles (forward and backwards)
- COVIDs
Finished by telling the PAX that we would be doing 3 separate partner programs today, so think of 3 different partners.
The Thang:
Quick mosey down to the playground and partner up for Thang 1
Thang 1:
Partner 1 does the MillerTime Special, Donkey Dans, while Partner 2 does 3 pull-ups and 3 hanging leg lifts from the pull-up bars. Total of 4 rounds, flap jack until all rounds are complete. Description of Donkey Dans below for reference.
- 1 Mercan to 3 Donkey Kicks, continually increasing. So second round is 2 Mercans, 6 Donkey Kicks, then 3 Mercans and 9 Donkey Kicks, and so on.
Quick mosey to the bottom of the Equestrian hill for Thang 2.
Thang 2:
Pick a new partner (somehow YHC failed to choose a partner and realized it one round in) for the exercises. Partner 1 is running up the hill (forwards first time, backwards second time, forward third time, and backwards last time) while Partner 2 is doing as many reps of the exercise as possible. Flap jack until each partner has run up the hill 4 times and completed the four exercises. Exercises are below:
- Mercans
- Lunges
- Burpees
- Squats
Mosey back over to the concession stand by the Field of Dreams for Thang 3.
Thang 3:
Partner 1 is wall sitting while partner 2 completes the exercise, flap jack until each PAX has completed 4 rounds. Exercises are below:
- Step ups onto the ledge: 30 single count
- Dips: 30
- Dercans: 30
- Wall Jumps: 15
Back to the flag, with an unofficial foot race that I believe Cookie won over Cart Path (and both left me in the dust). Finished up with a quick round of flutters and that was time.
COT:
Prayers for Lumbergh’s Dad; Devito’s daughter; my wife; our world leaders; and the people of Ukraine.
Also, Spring Convergence coming up on May 7th.
YHC threw out a little nugget about communication and receiving “bids” from our wives or others in our lives, and Cookie threw out a nugget about the struggle the younger generation is going through with the fear and lack of understanding of the war going on in Ukraine.
