My calves aren’t motivated enough

3 for the PR and we came back to an FNG pulling into the parking lot.  Awesome, let’s get started!


Mosey to the damn for some:

  • SSH
  • Imperial Walkers
  • Weedpicker
  • Arm Circles
  • Overhead Claps
  • Covids

Mosey back to the main parking lot for the fun to be had.

The Thang:

The Thang #1

We gathered at the center island and I laid out the plan for today.  Stiff Arm said he wanted a running workout (after we PRed as well…not sure why), and we aim to please at the Windjammer, so I  happily obliged with a leg-focused workout…with running too.

Defined 4 corners of the parking lot as exercise location with 75 reps of each exercise.  Here they are:

  • Squats
  • Calf-raises
  • Bonnie Blairs (single count)
  • Lunges (single count)

If PAX didn’t want to do the full 75 reps, they could reduce counts by doing either/both of two things:

  1. Each Burpee in the middle knocked 2 reps of your total count
  2. A run around the parking lot islands knocked 5 reps off your total count

We finished this so we moseyed to the (smooth) rock pile.  Townie told me that his calves weren’t quite motivated from Wednesday, so we did some Motivators!  9 count this time, Stu would have been proud that we did that 2 BDs in a row.

The Thang #2

Similar to the structure above, but only 3 stations this time.  I contend that those locations are also called corners, but the PAX wanted to argue that.  Here’s a discussion on Quora that I’m not sure really puts it to bed:

The exercises were 100 count this time at the corner/vertex/point/interior angle:

  • Curls
  • Overhead Press
  • Bent-over Rows

PAX could earn 5 rep credits for a burpee and 10 rep credits for a run this time.

We finished here and moseyed back to the flag.  We had a couple minutes so we completed Buzzsaw and 5 Burpees OYO.  Time!
