PAX (13): Benny, Chinstrap, Ha-ha, Mr. Hand, Olaf, Schneider, Snowman, Stroller, Stu, Swiper, Valley Girl
Confession: YHC is off work this week and was considering answering the fart sack’s call to sleep in this morning and just go for an OYO run later. Checked slack to see who had Q today and what to my wondering eye should appear but YHC’s name from months ago when I preemptively signed-up for a bunch. That is just the coincidence I needed to keep accelerating and a great way to setup guard rails.
The wind was howling during the pre-run so I decided to see if we could find spots in the AO that were somewhat protected as I was planning my Q on the fly.
Head down by the tennis courts for SSH, windmill, hillbilly, sprinkler, Moroccan night club IC.
A few different pearls on strings to keep us warm and moving.
Pearl 1: Mosey to the baseball fields in back
4 rounds of 3 exercises – merkins, squats, LBC – 20, 15, 10, 5 reps each round; bernie sanders up the hill and back in between sets.
Pearl 2: Mosey to the pavilion by the big ass parking lot
Bench work, multiple rounds in civilian cadence – dips, derkins, irkins; 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 reps with as little rest in between as possible
Pearl 3: head over to the coupon pile by the big ass parking lot and grab one “that makes you feel like a man”
4 rounds of 3 exercises – curls, thrusters, skull crushers – 5, 10, 15, 20 reps each round; toy soldier walk across half the parking lot and back in between sets.
Back to the flag for 2 min of Mary (J-lo, Dolly IC)
Prayers for Inseam’s FIL and for Benny’s friend’s family.
Ha-Ha also shared some wisdom and perspective about always being a parent regardless of your children’s age. We’re lucky to have men like him, Stu, and so many others who’ve gone before us and are so willing to share and help us who aren’t too far behind on our journeys.
