Since there was much ado about planting the shovel flag on school grounds (whaaaat?!) we huddled in Sweet Apple Park. YHC decided to keep the workout fairly contained in the back to stay out of complainers’ way.
Moseyed down and up the hill for some foreshadowing and then circled for something like
Because those are the ones I usually think of.
Then, given the flag hubbub, I threw in some solid Americana with a group plank to the tune of Johnny Cash “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” with a Burpee at every mention of the word “Down.”
First mission; a set of escalators starting at the crosswalk. We did the following counts:
at crosswalk: 10
bottom of hill: 20
back at crosswalk: 30
at path entrance/bathhouse: 40
back at crosswalk: 50
One round of merkins, followed by a round of prisoner squats.
Then because we had even numbers, YHC improvised and added a Dora. 100 merkins, 200 LBCs, 300 squats. Yes, lots of merkins and squats today.
Finally, we lined up over to the side of the parking lot and did a set of 11s with V-Ups and Single-count Lunges, with the gate serving as the “other” side, until I called time.
Prayers for Ollie’s brother in law; construction woes; and flag-flying frustration.
