YHC celebrated the big four oh milestone birthday DR on spring break last week and didn’t have the chance to celebrate proper with other F3 PAX so took the opportunity for the week after. Turns out several other AlphaNorth PAX have April birthdays including The Body (same day as YHC), Crab Cake, and Dumpster/Snake (same day and year as each other). Seems like an AlphaNorth tradition for years to come.
Mosey down to the bottom of Mt. Kill-a-man-jaro and keep running up to the top instead of stopping at the bottom for warm-o-rama…..whaaaa?!?! The PAX were immediately confused and suspicious of the fun that was about to ensue. Stop at the top and sweep for the six to regroup for W.o.R. “Hey Deuce, is that another PAX coming up from the bottom of the hill?”. “No, it’s just some dude.” Got it.
Circle up for some SSH (oh, that dude was Inseam making his trademark fashionable late appearance after all), weed picker, willie mays hays IC.
Mosey over to the top soccer field that has got to be at least a half mile long and quarter mile wide….at least…seriously. This field makes the Big-Ass-Parking-Lot at Grindstone seem like a postage stamp.
Anyway, PAX were instructed to form a circle around mid-field where we would be doing an up/down routine until we got to 40 burpees to commemorate YHC’s recent milestone achievement. PAX were also informed of the heavy metal and gangsta rap playlist they’d be serenaded with that represents the music I most connected with during my formidable years. What a great way to kick-off a beat down.
Next, came a four corners routine. One corner for each decade of YHC’s life to date.
Corner 1 – 10 diamond merkins
Corner 2 – 10 jump squats
Corner 3 – 10 big boi situps
Corner 4 – 10 burpees
Corner 1 – 20 ranger merkins
Corner 2 – 20 imperial squat walkers
Corner 3 – 20 LBC
Corner 4 – 20 burpees
Corner 1 – 30 wide arm merkins
Corner 2 – 30 star jumps
Corner 3 – 30 reverse LBC
Corner 4 – 30 burpees
Unfortunately, we didn’t time for round 4 and needed to start heading back to the flag given the larger group. Quick stop at the raccoon rails for some lunge walks to get everyone back together again and then proceed back to the flag to finish out with some mary.
At this point, YHC was feeling sorry for missing the 4th round of the burpee corner and it was quite evident the PAX were feeling deprived of their due reward so we went ahead and finished with 40 burpees OYO to make it right. What a great way to end a beat down.
Prayers for Snowman’s foot to heal quickly and for him to continue to draw strength from his creator and from the PAX while he heals-up on IR. Praises for Schneider’s work situation that is now looking to be heading in a positive direction.
Great TNT from Inseam:
Showman shows up at 0530 with a boot so he can get the fellowship he and we all need. With that in mind..
Similar to how the indirect benefits of the 2nd and 3rd “F”’s keep us coming back for more each morning, over the next couple days consider how you may be indirectly impacting those around you. Positively? Negatively? If negative, what might you change to make it positive?
Inseam also declared that we did 170 burpees immediately after the beat down concluded. Turns out it was only 140…not even close! Guess I’ll have to step it up next time to avoid getting a reputation for being weaksauce. Challenge accepted!
