PAX (8): Rattle Trap
FNG Dirty Bird
Bottom Bunk and YHC arrived at NLB about 30 minutes ahead of mosey time to meet some of the guys at the Bound but encountered a ghost town. After poking around we came across a couple of residents who just returned from a huge touch football tournament all the residents were participating at a nearby church. The football was after they already climbed up Sawnee Mountain earlier in the morning. We kicked our legs up, took in some sun and enjoyed chatting with these guys. Finally at about 1615, the vans rolled back in and out piled some very weary dudes, having just played three football games and climbed a mountain. We were able to rally five of the Bound guys, including an FNG to add a BD to the list of fun.
Moseyed out of the NLB campus across the street to the office park, ran a lap or two around the parking lot and circled up. Warm Up included SSH, Weed Pickers, Hill Billies and a Circle Burp.
The Pax gathered at one end of the parking lot where YHC unveiled the Board of Pain. The pax were relieved to learn it would be a team effort, better together, and we’d be going at it Dora style. One partner knocked out reps while the other ran down to the end of the parking lot, did two Burpees, and ran back to pick up the reps. Repeat, switch until done.

We ran into a scheduling crunch with dinner and the smells of Hasselhoffs barbeque wafting over the pax. So an audible was called and we started to head back to the (virtual) flag. But not before a quick detour to a nice grassy hill for some 11s. 10 merkins at the top, LBCs at the bottom. Again, we broke about halfway through to get the residents back, a bit late, for dinner. There Hasselhoff’s burgers, dogs, baked beans, tater salad and cookies awaited.
It was FNG Dirty Bird’s wife’s birthday on Saturday and he asked we keep her in our prayers as she celebrated without him. Blue Eyes is graduating on Thursday. Earlier in the week one resident up and left unexpectedly and we were asked to keep him in our thoughts.
It was a beautiful day and YHC felt blessed to be back with the F3 family, the men of NLB and sharpening Iron once again.
