Week 2 of the Tire Kickers around Duluth Town Green. I spoke up last week that I’d take the Q for week 2. Glad I did. This place is gonna be great to continue to explore.
With 8 PAX circling on the bricks in front of the stage, I ran through the 5 core principles of F3.
Be free of charge.
Be open to all men.
Be held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold.
Be led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary.
End with a Circle of Trust.
Side Straddle Hop
I had zero plans for this beatdown, except for the fact that I knew we were going to take a tour. Reminded the PAX to be careful if we crossed any streets.
The Tour d’ Duluth commenced in front of the Festival Center Stage. We mosey’d up the sidewalk toward the playground. Circled up around the climby thing and did 10 Step-ups. Can’t remember if we threw in some SSH here.
Mosey back out, down the steps and took a right. Swung into the City Hall Parking Lot for a quick 10 SSH. Mosey. Found the Callaboose. Balls to the Wall Callaboose was created. We made sure no one was locked inside, and then we Mosey’d past the under constto the end of Main Street and took a right on Hardy Street. On your 6 for 10ct American Hammer. Mosey. Took a right on Hill Street. QUICK left turn onto Ridge Town Place for a couple parking lot DB Drills. Back left on Hill street. Left infront of the under construction Courtyard by Marriott. YHC was interested if we could get into the Garage (good to know for future rainy days.) I determined we’d not enter the premises at this point since it is still a work zone. Looks close to being usable.
Quick 10 SSH and then back to Hill street. Turned left. Took note of a good area for DORA that would come up later.
Up the hill of Hill street. and crossed over Lawrenceville street in front of Falling Rabbit. Can’t remember if we did SSH, American Hammers or both. Quick 10 count either way. Back on your feet. back to Hill street and mosey’d downhill toward 120.
Abrupt right turn into parking lot area behind Maple Street and next to Simply Done Donut. Down the steps. Didn’t stop here for any exercises just kept mosey’ng through the parking lots and around sidewalk in front of Good Word Brewing. Hard Right down the heart of Parson’s Alley and into the courtyard outside Nacho Daddy and Dreamland.
The circle with the artwork in the middle of the courtyard looked like a great place for a Homer’s Donut. We spaced out around it. All together bear crawled counter clockwise back to our starting spots.
At this time we did some Dips using some of the very nice benches in this area. (There are a LOT of stepup points and areas around town for any number of exercieses.) We also did 1o derkins. Recover. Mosey down Lawrenceville street and crossed over back onto Main Street.
Hard Left across Main Street and down the steps to the backside of PURE and Red Clay. Mosey down the parking lot toward the coupon pile.
Grabbed a coupon and did 10 quick skull crushers, curls, chest presses. Return the rocks to the pile. Mosey up the steps beside Smith Art Gallery. 10 Quick SSH in the parking lot. Back across Main street back down toward the stage and then hard left up into the grassy area in front of City Hall.
Mosey down the sidewalk and down the steps on the ‘backside’ of Town Center into the Egg Shaped Courtyard. Partnered up and jumped into a DORA of 100 Merkins, 200, LBCs and 300 Squats. Partner A would Exercise. Partner B would run outside down toward steps near bathroom. Up steps, circle back to the steps beside the egg and down to partner.
Once the 6 were in, we mosey’d back to the stage area. On the Bricks for some Mary.
Boxcutter, Gas Pumper, Dolly, JLO, Pickle Pounder, Crunchy Frog, and Some Yoga with Doughboy. (I’m missing one)
Prayers for relationships. Prayers for those doing the Star Course. Prayers for whatever is starting here in Duluth that we can continue to grow it and EH guys who need Fitness, Fellowship and Faith.
