Having just gone home to New Orleans for a memorial for my Mom, I spent a little bit of time driving around the Carnival-themed decorations on homes around the city which is as close to a typical Mardi Gras parade as one can find in the time of Covid.
While I didn’t bring any King Cake with me, YHC brought the pain in the form of a Mardi Gras Kettlebell AMRAP, with lots of well known New Orleans R&B / Mardi Gras classics on the soundtrack.
We circled up for a few basic moves:
Then we took a quick mosy in front of the school to map out the route for the run in between Rounds of the Thang.
We returned to the flag and I unveiled the Pain Plan.
AMRAP to consist of:
70 lunges (Single count)
40 Kettlebell Swings
30 Overhead Press
All but Burpees and Lap to be performed with Kettlebell.
We called out the upcoming Hillseeker and pointed PAX to Slack for more. We prayed for Zima’s neighbor, healing hands on all in need, and for the continued need for coming together as a nation.
