May as well jump right in!

AO: Windjammer

When: 01/27/2021

QIC: False Start

PAX (13): Walkie Talkie, Townie, Cookie, Milli Vanilli, Hanson, Stiff Arm, Sleepless, Brutus, Flowbee, Hokie, Dr. Rico, Surely, False Start

3 for the pre-ruck and 2 for the pre-run.  We were all warm and wet already, so we may as well jump right in!

Mosey to the flag on the dam for a little:

  • SSH x 15
  • Toy Soldiers x12
  • Imperial Walker x12
  • Weedpicker x12

Mosey to the boat launch for the start of the fun!

The Thang:

The Thang #1

Four corner abs inspired by a Grindstone workout from Whiz:

  • 25 V-Ups
  • 50 LBCs
  • 75 Flutter Kicks (alpha)
  • 100 Salamanders? (that’s what Hanson called it) – on your Mary, reach and tap your ankles to punish the obliques

Now we’re all equally wet, the rest of this doesn’t matter. Mosey to the bottom of the sports park.

The Thang #2

I shared with the group that the night before a Q, YHC always asks the kids for workout suggestions.  They are usually pretty funny:  Jump spins, SSH punches, etc. but this time my oldest suggested Plank jack Burpees.  “Sure, how many kiddo?” “50!” she said.  “Ok, you got it!”  Sorry men, what the kids say, goes!

5 rounds of 10 Plank Jack Burpees with a run up the park lot hill in between each set

There was mumble chatter, but nobody cursed the 9-year old, so we behaved ourselves.

The Thang #2.1

A bit more time so we did a modified Colt 45 with 20 reps each of Curls, Overhead Press and Rows and then repeated another round of 15 each (for the official 45!).  Rotated to different coupons so we could rock-shame each other (Dr. Rico’s pick was no joke!)

Mosey back to the shovel flag for a round of swimmers so we could get some video for the interwebs. Done!

Praise for the men coming out today, it was rainy and wet, but we all pushed ourselves and each other.  Nice work!

Prayers for lumbergh’s family and favorable results on the outstanding tests.

Invitation from Dr. Rico to visit The Norsemen for his ‘fun’ Q tomorrow.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Hearing the rain on a morning like today makes the fartsack feel that much more comfortable.  Knowing that there are at least a few guys waiting for you at the AO helps roll you out though.  Seeing 13 become such a regular number for a new AO is awesome!  That makes the roll out of bed easy.  Keep it up men, we’re pushing each other, and YHC, more than we can all understand.

Until next time!
