SSH, Forward and Backward arm circles, Windmill, Copperhead squat
Mosey into town green area, 1/2 circle around green and backside of Cinebistro to side “square” parking lot. YHC had promised to use the parking deck if raining… it was not, so we utilized the ‘not raining yet wet’ parking lot.
Borrowed this from an F3Memphis backblast. Looked promising.
Round 1: Burpee Parkers – PAX split into four groups at parking lot corners (“stations”). Each member of the PAX spider crawls 8 paces (4 each hand) then stands up and performs 4 burpees. Repeat until next station.
First station: Each group performs 50 Squats – Burpee Parker to next station.
Second station: 30 BBSU – Burpee Parker to next station.
Third station: Each group performs 50 Squats – Burpee Parker to next station.
Fourth station: Each group performs 30 BBSU – Al Gore until done… Meet up/recover in the middle for instructions on round 2
Round 2: Burpee Dans – Replace spider crawls with lunges. Every 4 lunges, perform ascending reps of burpees, starting at 1 until you reach second station. After second station, perform descending reps of burpees every 4 lunges.
First station: Each group performs 30 SSH – Burpee Dan to next station.
Second station: Each group performs 30 LBCs – Burpee Parker to next station.
Third station: Each group performs 30 SSH – Burpee Parker to next station.
Fourth station: Each group performs 30 LBCs – Burpee Parker to next station.
Recover and mosey back around toward town green. During the warm up Mosey, YHC had noticed that someone had left a gas fire pit on (assumingely all night) and decided this might be a nice romantic place to end with some mary. About 14 minutes were left for the 8 of us. In retrospect, YHC should have done one more Thang before ending here. Regardless this is what transpired:
Pickle Pointer (Thank you, Feathers… somewhere today the PTC security guy or gal is going to scroll through video and see this and get a laugh)
‘take a lap’
It was at this point, that YHC knew we needed too add something to finish the full 45. Head over to the Veterans Memorial to do 20 step ups and 20 dips.
Back over to our fire for 1 more exercise of V-ups.
Prayers for our country. Prayers for our families and those who are currently and/or have been sick with COVID.
This group of men. We’re different. We come from different backgrounds and have differing beliefs. From politics to sports teams to religious beliefs.
Yet, before the sun comes up on cold, wet mornings, we can gather in a parking lot and experience the dynamite that is F3. It took me a while to really realize that the 3rd F which is called ‘faith’ is difficult to explain and you just have to experience it longer to understand it.
Iron Sharpening Iron is not only in the Bible, but it is practical and true. Same thing goes for ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ It’s Biblical, but these truths are starting points for people of differing views to come together.
If only we could come together as a country and have more people who sharpen each other daily, call each other by name, and treat each other with respect. I think common ground can be found, but it takes work and sweat. Mutual respect can happen in an accelerating manner.
