It was rainy and misty. The thought came to my mind that I may be the only one there this morning. Last year, it was only GOAT and I at the Wreck, but then again, probably not a lot of celebrating occurred last night. Let’s see…
A good group showed up this morning. Warm-up:
Windmill x 10
Imperial Walker x 10
Monkey Humpers x 10
Slow Squats x 10
Headed over to the covered area by the side door and playground. It was only drizzling, but we tried to stay dry in case the rain picked up.
We’re going to do 8 rounds of exercises:
Side Lunges (Right)
Side Lunges (Left)
Mountain Climber Get-Ups
The PAX will do the first exercise for 10 seconds, then rest of 15 seconds, before doing the second exercise until we run through all 8 exercises. For the next cycle through, we exercise for 20 seconds. Then 30 seconds, 40 seconds and 50 seconds. We walk up the latter while the rest increment remained 15 seconds. Needless to say, the 40 second and 50 second round was rough. A good way to welcome in 2021.
We headed to the hill. The PAX lined up. The first at the end of row would run up the hill, do 3 burpees, then run back. The rest of the PAX would do over head lunges. Once through, we did a rinse and repeat.
Then we headed to the pull-up bar for a round of morning call. After that, we ran back to the flag. That was time.
Thankful for this group of men than came out today. It would have been easy to sleep in, but they were there and went hard. I appreciate this group and how they continue to push for greatness every time they are out there. We said a prayer for our first responders, teachers, community and small business owners as they work through the pandemic.
After the prayer, we did run an extra credit mile to take the beat down to a full hour.
Good luck today to GOAT. He’s going to try to run 1 mile every hour for 24 hours. Hats off to him. That would be quite an accomplishment.
