The prior to Qing, I was thinking through what to bring for the Rubicon PAX in the morning. While cleaning post-dinner dishes, I started brainstorming out loud with my 9 yo daughter Haley. I was explaining the concept of an escalator when she suddenly said, “Oh, you guys could …”. Thus Haley’s Beatdown was conceived.
We kicked off with a run around the parking lot to start the blood pumping. Following, we circled up for IC SSH, hill billies, weed pickers and mountain climbers.
Warm-up complete, we ran down to FOD and circled around the pitchers mound. Beatdown concept is an escalator around the circle. Rep count for first exercise is 3, and then the count increases by 3 for each subsequent exercise. Q started us off with 3 burpees. Then all ran to the outfield fence and back. Repeat 3 burpees, then next guy to the left (Trebec) called 6 wide arm merkins. Fence and back. Continue repeating exercises with 1 new guy adding an exercise each round, going around the circle. Rules are no repeat exercises. Additional exercises included LBC’s, lunges, calf raises and flutter kicks. One particularly spicy call was Pass Interference with 27 diamond merkins. Bold call with several rounds to repeat that one.
Continued to promote Santa Ruck upcoming this Saturday AM. Millertime added a plug for the upcoming Thundermeat race in January, dubbed Shrinkage.
The Rubicon men showed up in force this AM with food and toys for the Santa Ruck. We filled the back of my pickup along with overflow into the backseat. Definitely exceeded my expectations for a 1 day collection volume and left me feeling very proud to be a part of this group of HIMs!!
