PAX (13): Legos, Miller Time, Shooter, Nacho Libre, Newman, Crikey, TMI, Callahan, Striper, White Claw, Dr. Rico, Jethro, Ha-ha
Halloween has come and gone and on a weekend which gave us plenty of time to invoke a “Daddy Tax” on the kid’s candy. But now it is time to pay the price for your indiscretions.
After a 4 PAX took a pre-run to Lowes and back, 13 gathered at the flag for a workout on a chilly 34 degree morning.
We ran up mount Norseman to the big pavilion and circled in the parking lot for:
Grave Diggers (weed pickers)
YHC explained the work for the morning:
You eat a “Fun Size” candy, not bad. You eat two, worse. But you keep eating those little bites and you dig yourself a hole! So now we have to dig our way back out. YHC has a bucket of candy and at every stop I’ll dig one out, look it up on the chart (Which was not blank today! I had a plan!) and perform the exercise for that piece of candy. But like the candy, each piece adds up so at each stop an exercise is added to what we already have on our “plate”. In addition there are 4 lit jack-o-lanterns throughout the park we have to find as we go.
The penalties for each candy:
Snickers: 20 Merkins
Hershey’s: 15 Carolina Dry Dock
KitKat: 20 AC Lunge
Twix: 30 AC Mountain Climbers
Lifesavers: 30 SC SSH
Mounds: 30 Squats
York: 30 Flutter Kicks
Hubba Bubba: 40 Overhead Clap
Suckers: 30 LBCs
Starburst: 15 AC Bonnie Blairs
Skittles: 10 Dragon Walk
M&Ms Peanut: 5 Burpees
M&Ms Plain: 10 Derkins
As we left the pavilion the first jack-o-lantern was visible across the big parking lot. We ran over and the first candy was:
Starburst for 15 Alpha Count Bonnie Blairs.
We ran back across the big lot and headed north on the park road and stopped half way up for another candy:
Mounds for 30 Squats added to the Bonnie Blairs
We ran further north to field 8 parking and found jack-o-lantern #2 and another candy:
York for 30 AC Flutter Kicks added to the above
Time to head for spooky trail and we cut over to the snack shack between field 6 and 7 where we found another Jack-o-lantern and candy:
Skittles for 10 SC Dragon Walk steps added to the above
We exited back to the parking lot for a right to the wooded parking area and another candy:
Snickers for 20 Merkins added to the above
We continued on spooky trail to the pavilion behind field 5 and headed back out on the park road and stopped for another candy:
M&Ms plain for 10 Derkins added to the above
One more jack-o-lantern to find so we ran south on the park road and at the top of the hill by the senior center we found it and one more piece of candy:
Twix for 30 AC Mountain Climbers added to the above
After running back to the flag it was 6:15 and we could go into our day knowing that we had started to pay for all the calories we have eaten.
Pray for our country
Thundermeat rain delay race is this Saturday morning
It was a joy to be out with you men this morning. Thanks for enduring the weather with me this morning. If we expose ourselves to small doses of pain, chaos and hardship (cold), when a real event comes along in our lives we will be better prepared for it. If you have worked out in the cold you are better prepared for the coming event when you may have to endure cold to protect or provide for your family.
