When Mondays punch back

AO: Bad Apple

When: 07/27/2020

QIC: Sprocket

PAX (4): Rusty, Ollie, Brutus

Monday: the very word that evokes angst and loathing in the mind of some men.  Personally, YHC doesn’t dislike Mondays in particular, to YHC they’re pretty much like the other days of the week – they can be “good” and/or “bad”.  That said, YHC had a Monday for the books, yesterday.  At least YHC was able to lead some outstanding PAX first thing in the morning before the day tanked.  Here’s what went according to plan:

After the greeting and disclaimer, YCH directed the PAX to circle up for Windmills, Mtn Climbers, SSH’s and Hillbillys.  12-15 rep’s each IC.  YHC needed a 400 meter’ish loop for The Thang, so, YHC lead the PAX across the road where a lap around the shopping center would serve nicely.

The Thang:

4 Rounds

400 meter run

20 burpees

50 meter lunge to gazebo

25 decline Merkins utilizing gazebo benches

and… the PAX crushed it.  No mumblechatter – just work.  A couple of PAX finished early, so was able to keep things going with some core work consisting of in-and-outs and ‘Merican hammers.

Seeing as these guys were ready for more, lead the PAX back across the road for a quick round of..

11’s Diamond Merk/Step Up edition:

Began with Diamonds at base of hill, then, ran up steps to dugout to utilize bench for the step ups.  With a couple of minutes left on the clock, we decided to push through and finish final sets which did put us past time by a minute or two.

Zero time left for Mary, obviously.

Prayers said for each other’s family, our nation and its leadership at all levels.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

The day pretty much went downhill for YHC after he began his work day (which, ironically, wasn’t very productive work-wise).  BUT, YHC will share this: when a crisis or crises happens, allow yourself to observe, assess, adapt prior to executing.  While not necessarily easy to do, a man that can allow himself to put things into perspective during a crisis and adjust his decision-making accordingly can come out better for himself and those in his care.  Always an honor to be the company of and lead some of the best PAX north of the Chattahoochee.  Sprocket out.
