My M woke me up, telling me I’m late. Hit the snooze button three times already. I look at my watch and realize I have 5 minutes to be out of the house. A classic “first day of school” scenario, but this time I’m over 40 and I’m the teacher (well, Q). I can’t be late. I had a great lesson planned for today, with music and all. The kids, or PAX, will expect me to be there on time.
Really glad I was prepared the night before (hard lesson, as I did miss workouts in the past).
Mosey, SSH, Moroccan Night Club, Windmill, Imperial Walkers
Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Mosey to the rock pile to grab some coupons. IC Curls, Skull Crushers, Shoulder Presses, Rows and Sumo Squats (coupon touching the ground). This first part was done with a regular playlist in the background. To explain the PAX the theme for today YHC changed the music to Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. YHC was really proud of this idea, but the execution failed… Likely due to the rain, my phone started running through the songs. I wasn’t ready to ruin the surprises ahead so I stopped the music, we returned the coupons and continued to the next class.
Playing with Fire
Kids love playing with fire trucks and being firemen, so we were going to do some firemen carries (modify to partner carry if needed). 3 groups. Starting at the middle of a soccer field, Group 1 needs to take both groups to the end of the field. Meanwhile, Group 2 does SSH and Group 3 LBCs, as many reps as possible. Then switch between the groups and again.
YHC brought again the special playlist.
Ring around the rosie – Bunny Hops, Burpeee on the word “down”
She’ll be coming round the mountain – cycle through 20 Mountain Climbers and 20 American Hammers
The wheels on the bus – cycle through 20 Freddy Mercury and 20 Dolly
5 little monkeys – cycle through 20 Monkey Humpers and 20 Jump Squats
The mumble chatter ranged between surprise, laughter, reminiscences and “oh god, I hope no one is watching me right now”.
Our Old McDonald’s didn’t cows or sheep, no sir. Ours had Donkeys and Bears. 11s of Donkey Kicks and Dancing Bears.
Once lap of Indian Run around the soccer field, T-Bombs, and The Obelisk.
I think we went a minute over time, but the bell is for the teacher, not for the students.
Lots of upcoming activities in the next few months with runs and rucks events. sign up and train, to push yourself.
F3 workouts are hard, but they are also fun. Connect with your inner child, don’t be afraid to make a fool of yourself and push yourself to do something you couldn’t do before.
