PAX (12): The Dub, Pooh Bear, Meatball, Sunshine, Saint2O, El Matador, Scrooge, Boomer, Splinter, Ballboy, Homer, Zohan
What better way to celebrate your upcoming birthday than with some friends and some music? I created a short playlist and headed to the Hooch for an early birthday party.
A quick mosey, with Bernie Sanders, high knees and ass kickers.
Moroccan night club x10, Merkins x10, Plank Jacks x15, Mountain Climbers x10
Not the usual warm up of SSH and Weed Pickers, but it’s my party!
We moseyed to a field near the church for the first song in the playlist. Starting with Elbow Plank we go up to High Plank and back for every “Bring Sally Up, Bring Sally Down”.
Next we moseyed to the bottom of a hill for 11s, starting with 10 Big Boys Sit-ups at the bottom and 1 Carolina Dry Dock at the top.
We finished back down just to go up again doing the Everest going up – lunge with one leg, squat, lunge with the other leg, squat. Nice and slow.
We moseyed to another field for the next song, doing Squats throughout the song and a Burpee for every Roxanne (by the Police). About 25 of these if you can keep up with the music, especially difficult near the end.
Staying on the field we partnered up for Catch Me If You Can. One PAX Bear Crawls toward the other end of the field while the other does 8 Bonnie Blairs (single count) and runs to catch and switch.
We moseyed back to the flag with a short stretch of lunges to let the six catch up.
At the flag we had our final song – LBCs during the song with Freddie Mercury every time he sings “Bicycle”.
At that point the PAX commented, and rightly so, that I need to ask for Bluetooth Speakers as my birthday gift as my phone was not up to the task.
Given a minute plus to the end we finished with 20 Monkey Humpers and 15 Box Cutters.
Prays of healing and safe travels.
This was seriously one of the best birthday parties I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed being in the gloom of the early morning with my brothers, working out together. It was fun and I hope I’ll be able to continue for many more years.
The party is not over, though. It continues tomorrow for me, as I’ll be Qing in The Gladiator.
