With the Star Course complete, we had some new faces out for Twisted Surprise this morning. And Cookie’s suggested 0630 pickup option drew in 4 more for a total of 8. Nice to have some new blood out there. Couple more waiting in the lot at our return put us to 10 for the beatdown.
We ran up to the entrance circle for a quick warm-up of IC SSH, imperial walkers and copperhead squats.
I had a loose plan for the beatdown, but as we ran back into the park, I saw the stairs and had an idea. This started a chain that led to a beatdown completely made up on the fly, using nothing from my original plan. Back to the stairs … partner up. Partner A did squats at the base of the stairs while Partner B ran up the stairs and around near the bridge to do 10 derkins on the rail. Flapjack. Continue until each partner completed 3 rounds of stairs and derkins. Mosey to the playground swings and pick a new partner. Partner A – swerkins, Partner B – 10 pull-ups, 3 rounds each. Modified to merkins after the first round. With all complete we ran over to the bathroom building by the soccer field. Partner A – balls to the wall, Partner B – air chair for a 30 count, 3 rounds each.
Then down onto the field and gather at the corner for exploding BOMBS. 10 burpees at corner 1. Then 10 burpees plus 20 overhead claps at corner 2. Continue around corners repeating the sequence from the prior corner then adding 10 to the count for the new exercise all the way to 50 squats. Still had time so we headed to the rock pile and grabbed a medium large coupon. First set was 20 reps each shoulder presses, skull crushers, standing rows and curls. Repeat for a set of 15 reps and a set of 10 reps. Back to the flag for dying cockroach and box cutters, and that was it.
