No Gloves, I Swear

AO: The Gladiator

When: 10/25/2018

QIC: Shrinkage

PAX (): Brownie, Kegger, DefCon2, Stroller, Viking, Sox, Puddle Jumper, Black Box (FNG)

Another perfect fall morning and everyone was dressed accordingly except Kegger who was dressed for a cold winter day in Montana. DC2 asked him to take off some clothes which was awkward, but we got past it. I was excited for my VQ and happy to see a new FNG and long-time friend Japhy show up for the workout.

Warm Up:

Long mosey to the park entrance parking lot where we did SSH’s, Weedpickers, and Mountain Climbers before moseying back down the hill to the pavillion, stopping to do (5) Burpees at every speed bump. I had sent out a message the night before that no one needed gloves, and Viking was sure to mention that while we were doing Burpees on the rocky pavement. He found the speed bumps much smoother for his hands.

The Thang:

At the pavilion, everyone grabbed a bench and we did 3 sets of the following with music playing [‘Till I Collapse by Eminem). I didn’t mention that I had a speaker, so when the music started, Kegger thought it was coming from the trash can.

15 Side Step Ups
15 Derkins
15 Dips

Thang 2:

Mosey to the Soccer stands for 3 sets of the following with music playing [Dragula by Rob Zombie]

10 Box Jumps
10 Slow & Low Squats
10 Monkey Humpers

Mosey to the concession stand for a little Balls to the Wall competition. It was obvious early on that Stroller sleeps upside down and no one was going to beat him. He eventually got bored and dropped, and we moseyed over to the soccer field. One lap around the soccer field with side runs on the short side.

Thang 3:

We circled up for my favorite exercise, Jack Webb’s. For every (1) Merkin, we did (4 ) shoulder presses, increasing the Merkin count by 1 until we got to (10) Merkins/ (40) shoulder presses. DC2 started doing his Vice Q thang and caused all kinds of confusion with the counts, but we all ended together.

After the Jack Webb’s, we lined up and did Lt. Dans to midfield and sprinted back to the line. Checked my watch, and thought we were perfect on time to do a little Duck-Duck-Q. We circled up at midfield and took turns calling out exercises and running around in Duck-Duck-Goose fashion. Viking ran around twice to give us time to Bear Crawl to the middle and Crab Walk back.

[Music: 300 Violin Orchestra, Walk by Pantera, Hells Bells by AC/DC, Enter Sandman by Metallica, and Thunderstruck by AC/DC]

We ran back to the flag for some Mary, but here is where I lost all control and the Vice Q’s (there were a few today) got involved. I got confused about the ending time and tried to stop 3 minutes early. Viking was having NONE of it, so back on our Six for some Mary until time was up.

FNG Japhy got his F3 Name – Black Box. Prayers to watch over Viking and Sox during their travels.
